Catherine Murnin

Director of Care Services

Catherine Murnin is our Director of Care Services and joined NICHS in October 2020. After starting out her career in the education sector, Catherine undertook further study with the Open University and joined the Third Sector, working in various management and leadership roles with local and national charities. As part of her work, Catherine has set up a multidisciplinary working group for early years and complex needs, the first self-management programme in NI for people living with Parkinson’s and their carers and an interface project across primary and secondary care for cancer referral pathways. Before joining NICHS she led on the Elevate Programme with CDHN and the PHA, looking at ways to reduce health inequalities through community development approaches. Catherine is the founder of the Well-being Pathway, delivering self-care and wellness programmes in her local community. Her volunteer roles include Parent Governor, Healthy Clubs sub-group member and Mentor for rural women’s groups.
