Primary Schools' Red Dress Fun Run
Our exciting new primary schools’ campaign for spring term will put the fun into FUNdraising for your pupils and staff.
As part of our wider campaign during ‘National Heart Month’ in February 2022, and as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary year, we are asking you to join us for the most heartwarming event of the year – our annual RED DRESS FUN RUN – to help raise vital funds towards our work fighting chest, heart and stroke illnesses and rebuilding thousands of lives across Northern Ireland.
We're seeing red as the sad fact is that four people here die every day from heart disease and across Northern Ireland 10 people today will have a heart attack – we all know a family that has been affected. There are currently over 335,000 people in Northern Ireland living with a chest, heart or stroke condition – that's one in five of us.
Our vision is a Northern Ireland free from chest, heart and stroke illnesses and we need your support to keep taking steps towards achieving that dream.
It’s easy to get involved. On any day in February 2022 that suits, we are asking you to host your own Red Dress Fun Run for pupils and staff in support NI Chest Heart & Stroke. Simply wear something red, donate £1 for each participant and get active against heart disease as you have fun while you run. Tell a joke, sing a song, make a conga line… do whatever makes everyone smile while they have a laugh raising cash for a great cause.
If your school already participates in the regular Daily Mile, why not have a heart and donate a special one to us this February? Each school that takes part will receive a NICHS presentation cheque to show how much they have raised, a certificate of thanks and, to make it even more fun to be involved, we will be creating a fun-filled warm-up video with some celebrity ambassadors from the world of sport and comedy to watch before your run!
Plus! Every school that signs up will be entered into a prize draw in which one school will win a special commemorative Red Dress Fun Run 2022 heart-shaped pedometer for every pupil and member of staff – a great way to encourage everyone to stay healthy and active and continue taking steps towards looking after their own heart health.
There will also be five runner-up prizes of a huge healthy food hamper, which could be used by your school PTA as a raffle prize to raise funds, along with an online ‘Heartley’s Heroes’ talk for all pupils from our Schools’ Health Promotions Team. So, don’t miss out on the fun! Sign your primary school up today!
Suggested fundraising target £1 per participating pupil.
