“We welcome the opportunity for the public and people with experience of stroke to get involved in the debate on how things can be improved,” said Neil Johnston, Public Affairs Adviser for NICHS.

“We have been chosen by HSC to facilitate this process as we have first-hand knowledge of working with those who have experienced the current arrangements, and we recognise that while there is much that is good, there is always room for improvement. “It is important that people get involved and these meetings give us the opportunity to keep stroke survivors and their carers, as well as local politicians and members of the public, informed about a situation we know they care about deeply.”

In its role as impartial facilitator, the feedback gathered by NICHS during the pre-consultation process will be fed back to Health and Social Care for consideration.

As yet, no decision about current services has been made and no date for the formal consultation has been set.

The pre-consultation process ends on 15th September.
