Well Talks and Webinars for Schools
Promoting healthier lifestyles for young people
Educating our young people about the importance of healthy eating and staying active is key to preventing all sorts of illnesses, including chest, heart and stroke conditions. That’s why at NICHS, our Well Talks/Webinars in Schools are a crucial part of the services we provide to communities.
Our in-person talks, and our webinars focus on increasing awareness about the importance of a healthy diet, not smoking and being physically active, encouraging young people to make positive lifestyle changes.
Well Talks and Webinars
Designed to be interesting and stimulating, our Well Talks/Webinars last for 30 minutes and are suitable for post-primary schools and for both pupils and teachers/staff, either in an assembly, a classroom setting or accessed at home at a time that suits them. Our In person Well Talks are subject to our COVID protocols. Well webinars can be delivered live or accessed online
In addition to our Well Webinars, we’ve also created:
- Stress, coping techniques and sleep videos for young people to help them keep well during COVID-19.
- A new 30-Day Challenge to help keep our younger children active and healthy during COVID 19.
- Updated resource packs on healthy living for younger children.
While COVID-19 continues to present challenges and adjustments for schools, families and children, we’re determined to ensure that young people in Northern Ireland are still supported in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
