Stroke affects the whole family, not just the individual. Our Stroke Family Support Co-ordinators are there to provide help when it is most needed, providing vital advice, support, information and signposting to stroke survivors.
Stroke can be devastating and the journey to recovery and living as full a life again can be a long one – our Stroke Family Support team is there for the stroke survivor, their carer and their family as they make that journey, listening, understanding, advising and supporting every step of the way.
Currently there are over 37,000 people across Northern Ireland living with the devastating effects of a stroke, which is why we have teams of Stroke Family Support Co-ordinators in every Health and Social Care Trust.
But we can’t do it alone.
We rely on the generosity of local people across Northern Ireland who provide over 80% of our income through donations, which allow us to help families affected by stroke.
Each year it costs around £305,000 to run our local Stroke Family Support Service. Your gift will help us continue to provide this vital service.
This is the incredible difference your gift could make to a stroke survivor:
£23 could pay for a stroke information pack and visit from one of our local stroke family co-ordinators to provide tailored support to help them on their stroke recovery journey.
£15 could help towards the weekly travel costs of a local stroke family support co-ordinator.
