9th – 10th September 2017
Your Mission: Drive across Northern Ireland in one weekend. Climb 5 peaks in an unforgettable team adventure. Where will the journey take you first?
Grab your mates and take on the highest peak of each county in Northern Ireland! You have 36 hours to complete the 5 peaks starting at the event base at Oxford Island at 8am on the Saturday morning. Or you can try to beat 2016’s winners, Team Walkie Talkies, who smashed all 5 in an eye watering 22 hours!
Teams will climb Donard, Cuilcagh, Trostan, Sawel and Gullion day and night whilst being tracked by GPS. Watch the other teams on the GPS Tracker choose which mountain to climb first and see what their strategy might be. Take your selfies (mandatory tweets, snapchat and insta!) at each peak once you’ve dibbed in! You will have 2 black out mountains meaning you can’t climb them at night so your plans will need to be fool proof or you could find yourself up against the clock! What order will you go for?
Imagine you and your friends planning an unforgettable weekend and supporting each other going through the highs and lows, right to the finish line. Who will drive? Which two will take on which peaks (maybe you all will)? What mode of transport will you go for? Who’s doing the cooking? Will you sleep? It’s up to you – tailor the challenge to the best of your team’s abilities!
NICHS with 26 extreme will have all mountains marshalled, signage for easy guidance up and down each peak, feed and water stations, suggested road routes, roaming marshals, mountain maps and first aid. All you need to do is come up with a plan and beat the clock!
How many team members per team? 4-6
How much to enter? £200 per team
How much fundraising does our team need to raise? £1000 per team (NICHS will provide materials and support teams to reach their targets)
