This May, we're recognising two vital health campaigns – May Measure Month and Stroke Awareness Month. It's the perfect time to encourage your team to check their blood pressure, learn the signs of stroke, and prioritise their wellbeing at work.

"Check your Blood Pressure - It could stop you going through a life changing stroke like I did, or even save your life.”
Clare Doherty, from Derry/Londonderry, had a severe stroke last summer which was caused by undiagnosed high blood pressure. Clare is sharing her story in the run up to World Hypertension Day (17th May) in support of our blood pressure awareness campaign.

|
Clare wants to use her experience to encourage others to get their blood pressure checked due to the fact high blood pressure rarely displays any symptoms and is often only discovered after someone suffers a stroke or heart attack.
Clare was supported by our Family Support Service and PREP programme after her stroke. She says, "Through the NICHS groups I have the opportunity to talk to others who have had strokes and that has been so important to me.”
We couldn't continue to provide our programmes and services without support from organisations like yours - thank you!
