We are seeking the support of local hair salons as charity partners for our new Her Heart Campaign.
We are asking if you could have a heart and Go Red for a day, weekend or week this autumn to promote women’s heart health? As we believe there is no better place than your salon to get woman talking about their heart health.
The Her Heart Campaign will be working with hairdressers across NI to educate women on the causes, risks and symptoms of heart disease and to encourage them to take some me-time to get themselves checked out.
Our aim is to raise awareness of the risk of heart disease and stroke in women, especially those aged over 40.
It’s a heartbreaking statistic however Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is one of the leading causes of death in women, killing more than twice as many women as breast, cervix, uterus and ovary cancer combined in Northern Ireland.
Sadly though awareness of women and heart disease remains understudied, underdiagnosed and under-treated however and many women remain oblivious to the risk.
On your chosen “Her Heart” day or week we would encourage you to decorate your salons, wear red, dye your hair red or wear heart-shaped deely boppers – basically whatever it takes to get the conversation started!
Bespoke Hairdressing on Belfast’s Belmont and Lisburn Roads are happy to help us raise awareness with their clients. It’s our aim to make women feel confident and love how they look on the outside, but this campaign highlights that we may not know exactly what’s happening on the inside. We could be unaware of risks to our health that could eventually lead to serious illness and sadly even the unthinkable – a threat to life.”
“We would urge anyone coming to our salons this autumn to scan the Her Heart QR code on the mirror whilst in the chair. When you’re pampering yourself on the outside, why not have a think about what you’re doing to care for the inside? You will learn more about risk factors, how to look after your own heart health and if you can, please make a donation to support this fantastic cause.”

❤️ QR code stickers for all your salon mirrors so that while you are ensuring your clients look great on the outside, they can scan the code and read all about how to ensure they are fabulous on the inside too!
❤️ A5 information leaflets on Women’s Heart Health to read, take home and share with others
❤️ Balloons to decorate your salon.
❤️ Collection Box for those wishing to donate. To boost your fundraising you could also run a raffle offering hair products or a complimentary treatment.
