Professor McKee has been professor of European Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine since 1997 and is Research Director at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, a partnership of governments (including the UK and Ireland), international agencies, and universities. He has led major research programmes on health in societies undergoing major social, economic, and political change.
