Why should you come along?
- High blood pressure rarely has any symptoms. The only way to know what your blood pressure (BP) is to have it measured. If your blood pressure is consistently higher than it should be it is called high blood pressure (or hypertension). High blood pressure is not a disease in itself. However, it can lead to an increased risk of heart disease and strokes.
- AF (irregular heartbeat) is a heart condition which increases your risk of stroke by up to five times. It causes an irregular and often abnormally fast heart rate. Over 39,000 people in NI are living with AF, although it's been estimated that a further 10,000 may be living with the condition undetected. Could you be one of them? Please pop along to one of the venues below during the times and we'll happily give you a free, one-minute test.
- Find out more about the The Red Dress Fun Run! A previous CIOF award-winning (highly-commended) event of the year, come walk, run, dance, skip or wheel* 5K around the beautiful woodland grounds of Stormont Estate, Belfast on Sunday 23rd February to support NICHS heart care programmes and research. Everyone is welcome, for all ages and abilities - you can even bring the family pooch (as long as he stays on a lead). Free T-shirt and medal for every participant, spot prizes, family entertainment and much, much more!
As almost 90% of our funding is exclusively thanks to public donations without you, we couldn't be here delivering our care and support services to people with chest, heart and stroke conditions across Northern Ireland. So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support. ❤️
For more information or if you have any queries about this event please contact Nadia Duncan at nduncan@nichs.org.uk or by ringing (028) 9032 0184.

** Red Dress Event Packs will only be given to participants already registered or who register at a Heart Tour location on the day.
