Scientific Research Grants 2019/2020: Open for Applications
Each year, we invite researchers to apply to our Scientific Research Grants (SRG) programme. Through this programme we fund high quality local research that delivers real benefits to people living with chest, heart, and stroke conditions.
For information about currently funded projects, visit our research page.
This year, the programme opens on 3 June 2019.
Who can apply?
Researchers who are located within Northern Ireland, and who can demonstrate an interest in the fields of chest, heart and stroke illness, are invited to apply.
- Must meet the criteria outlined in the guidance document.
- Will clearly fit with our Research Strategy
This year, the allocated SRG budget is set at £400,000.
We ran workshops for those considering applying for a grant.
The aim of these were to:
- outline how the application process works, and
- provide guidance on ensuring your application is based on a strong research design.
Applicants are also encouraged to seek professional research design and statistical advice before submission.
The slides from these workshops can be downloaded here.
For further details about the workshops, download the Workshop Flyer.
The closing date for applications is 23 August 2019.
What happens next?
Once closed, applications will undergo external peer review, before being judged by the Scientific Research Committee in January 2020. Applicants will be notified about the final decision by February 2020.
