Leading law firm Elliott Duffy Garrett have pledged their support for Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke’s (NICHS) ‘Will You?’ campaign. The campaign, which launches this month, involves solicitors waiving their standard fee for Will writing services and instead, inviting clients to make a donation to NICHS.

An estimated 20,000 people in Northern Ireland could be living with the debilitating effects of Long COVID. Funds raised from the ‘Will You?’ campaign will go towards supporting the charity’s ground-breaking Long COVID recovery service, which was the first programme to be established in Northern Ireland to help Long COVID sufferers.

Neil Mulholland from Elliott Duffy Garrett says; “We are delighted to be able to use our legal skills to help in some way to address the challenges faced by those suffering from Long COVID. By supporting people to make or update a Will we can raise vital funds for this NICHS service and play a part in helping someone on their recovery journey.”

Jackie Trainor, Director of Income Generation at NICHS adds; “Our Long COVID recovery service receives no funding. Indeed, almost 90% of our care, prevention and research services are funded exclusively by public donations. We rely greatly on our supporters, like Elliott Duffy Garrett, to help us keep caring for and supporting our local community. We really appreciate Elliott Duffy Garrett’s commitment to our ‘Will You?’ campaign.”

“We are encouraging solicitors to sign up and support the campaign, so we can continue to provide help and support services to the many people living with Long COVID throughout Northern Ireland.
