Story

Hi, my name is Emma and I have set up this fundraising challenge to take on the Mourne Mountains 7 peak challenge on the 1st of May 2021 in aid of the chest, heart and stroke charity in memory of our precious Daddy, Terry Liggett who passed away very suddenly on the 27th September 2020. It has torn our lives apart without him, he was our world. An incredible man, a gentle giant and the most kind, loving, noble and selfless wee person, who seen the good in everything and everyone. I am so proud of him and everything he stood for in his life. Exercise for me is paramount for my mental health, I have found going for a walk or run everyday helps to clear my head and allows for time to reflect, especially through this heartbreaking grief. I will carry on my daddy’s memory in everything that I do, he approached life with remarkable character—one surrounded in routine, humility, and respect. He lived his life in a manner that he wanted to communicate to his children and grandchildren and he successfully done that in every sense of the word, I will do my best to honour him, even if the shoes are too big!!. My Daddy is such a special person who can never be replaced, I miss him so much...!!
Given my current state, this will definitely be a challenge for me, but I am determined to do my Daddy proud in every aspect of my life. After the devastating loss of our Daddy, I really want to get involved with this charity to give just a little input into helping with current research surrounding heart conditions in Northern Ireland. Undoubtedly the hardest thing is going through your life with someone you can’t live without and then living without them. It is the most devastating heartache.
