We've been working to fight chest, heart and stroke illnesses in Northern Ireland for over 75 years – all the way back to 1946!
At Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke (NICHS), we work every day to help people in Northern Ireland stay healthy and support those who are living with chest, heart, and stroke conditions.

We Care ❤️
We support people in Northern Ireland who have had a heart attack or heart condition, stroke, or lung illness.
We run special programmes to help them get better, feel stronger, and live life to the fullest.

We Prevent 🏃♂️
We teach people - children, teenagers, and adults - how to look after their health. We visit schools, workplaces, and communities to talk about things like healthy eating, exercise, and looking after your heart and lungs.
We also do health checks that can spot the early signs of chest, heart or stroke problems, so people can go to their doctor and make changes to stay healthy.

We Research 🔬
We fund scientists and researchers in Northern Ireland so they can do important research to find new ways to prevent and treat chest, heart, and stroke conditions. This means that in the future, fewer people will get sick, and those who do get sick can have better care.

We Campaign 📢
We talk to the people in charge, like the government, and ask them to make better laws that look after everyone's health, improve hospitals and healthcare, and make sure there’s more support for people living with chest, heart and stroke conditions.
We speak up for people who have chest, heart, or stroke conditions, and for the health of everybody in Northern Ireland.
